ตอกย้ำความเป็นโรงพยาบาลเฉพาะทางด้านโรคหัวใจและหลอดเลือด
โรงพยาบาลหัวใจกรุงเทพได้รับรางวัล ELSO Award of Excellence in Extracorporeal Life Support ในงาน EuroELSO Ceremony Award ณ Westminster Abbey, London เมื่อวันที่ 5 พฤษภาคม 2565 ที่ผ่านมา
เรียกได้ว่า เป็นโรงพยาบาลแรก และแห่งเดียวในประเทศไทยที่ได้รับรางวัลนี้ โดย ผศ.นพ.อรรถภูมิ สู่ศุภอรรถ ผู้ช่วยผู้อำนวยการโรงพยาบาลหัวใจกรุงเทพ (ที่สองจากซ้าย) เป็นตัวแทนร่วมรับรางวัล ที่ประเทศอังกฤษ
ELSO เป็นรางวัลที่มอบให้กับทีม ECMO จากสถาบันที่มี ECMO service ทั่วโลก โดยพิจารณาจากคุณภาพด้านต่าง ๆ คือ
- Systems Focus– the ECLS Center provides generalized information about institution
- Environmental Focus– the Center provides information about the facility and equipment available for ECLS
- Workforce Focus– the center describes the personnel caring for the patient
- Knowledge Management– the Center provides information on the ECLS Team training and competencies
- Quality Focus– the Center provides evidence regarding continuous quality improvement activities
- Process Optimization– the Center provides information concerning outcome reviews and developmentally focused care
- Patient & Family Focus– the Center describes the family education and participation in care
โรงพยาบาลที่เคยได้รับรางวัลที่ผ่านมาจะอยู่ในทวีปอเมริกาและยุโรป เช่น Mayo Clinic Rochester, Oregon Health & Science University, The Royal Brompton Hospital, University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Boston Children’s Hospital, Cleveland Clinic, Duke University Hospital, Massachusetts General Hospital, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, Stanford Hospital and Clinics, The University of Chicago Medical Center
โรงพยาบาลหัวใจกรุงเทพ นับเป็นโรงพยาบาลแห่งเดียวในประเทศไทย และแห่งที่ 3 ในเอเชียตะวันออก ถัดจาก National Taiwan University Hospital และ Chonnam National University Hospital ที่ได้รางวัลนี้
